Early 20th Century family group by French photographer Jules Laporte. In a table top glass and wooden frame with leather backing, the picture is held in place by four sliding clips.
Laporte was born on January 3, 1843 in Clermont-Ferrand (Puy-de-Dôme) France. Aged 32, Laporte was a photographer in Vitry-le-François (Marne). He operated in a studio located in rue de Frignicourt. Laporte worked in Vitry-le-François for nearly forty years. In 1911, he is still listed as a patron photographer rue de Frignicourt.
