This welded iron chain link floor lamp is a decorative piece of metalwork forged by an artisan blacksmith. It is unlikely you'll find another the same. Dating to the late 1980s, its construction is most likely inspired by sculptor Franz West. Being an unusual height for this type of lamp, it is perfect to cast a light at the side of a sofa or favourite comfy chair. The lamp consists of a hook, chain and cog wheel base. It has been rewired, fitted with an inline foot switch, British standard plug and PAT tested. The shade is for example only.
Franz West (1947-2012) was an Austrian sculptor and Conceptual artist see (Private-Lampe des Kunstler II circa 1989).
