A wooden toy car by Frenchman Michel Aroutcheff. He began making toys out of scraps of wood in 1973 for the children of his friends and then had some commercial success marketing his first wooden stylised creations of planes, cars and boats.
From our research we have discovered this 1930s style car is one of his early models. There are some water marks on the roof and one wheel. The running board on the left side and spare wheel at the back are missing, however this is still an impressive decorative item.
In the early 1980s Aroutcheff joined the French high-end toy company Vilac, but left in 1985 to start his own company.
